What happened to bodykits ?
I just recently got back into the "scene". It seems everything is "JDM" now. I always liked "JDM" since about '96. But what happened to all the kitted cars in magazines , and everybody trying to have the next kit that looked like a praying mantis? It kinda makes you wonder if it will ever go back in that direction. Because everybody is trying to be "JDM" , maybe to be sepperated from the norm , maybe you are going to need an overvented bodykit to be different. I've never owned a kitted car , but who on here has? If you could post pics for memories sake , that would be nice. I've always liked the look of the Showoff kits. What comments do other HTer's have?

Because this forum is "JDM" anything with body kits might get locks

the good body kits are on track cars.
most cars you'll see now with functional kits would be drift cars.. These kits are also JDM too.
The style for body kits for "show" has really died down.
After looking over my OEM Aero on my s14. i think i should've went with a full body kit from AIT.
this is a clean jdm body kit that functions:
I might get this kit later down the line.
JDM was cool. but from 2003 and now, it's all be riced out. everyone fronting fake parts, and stickers.

I had a kit. I will admit it. Whoopee. My car was one of about 3 that had a stock SOHC 2.4l, with a 2.0 DOHC head swap, not a full bottom end swap. I am into the whole JDM scene, but not nearly as much as some. I am into clean cars, thats about it.

Of course. There are some kits, found at Taka Kaira.com, that aren't up to my standards. IMO, my kit was decent. It was paid for by someone elses insurance when they hit my car.

i've had a body kit and i liked it. i'm into both jdm and whatever i like, look. i'm not a trend follower. i just get what i like. i didn't want a bodykit. i was looking for a lip kit, something clean. but my friend liked that aggressive look. so i got a full kit. here is my car when it had a body kit. this was in 2003.
