2.4L motor - A/R recommendation?
The engine in question is a 2.4L SRT motor, that has been rebuilt to run up to 8000 rpm. I'm fairly certain that a T4/T67 is in the ballpark for the type of power I plan to make (~700HP). I've seen them advertised with 0.68, 0.84, and 0.96 A/R turbine housings. Since I have more displacement to work with, would 0.96 be the best choice, or is that too big?

nevermind the SRT haters. I'd say that turbo will defintely meet your goals. Personally though I'd get a garrett GT40r or GT42r; but to answer your question...Yes, I would get the .96 a/r since you have the displacement to push it. Just out of curiousity, what did you do to the motor to make it wrap to 8k? Dont SRT4's have a bad r/s with 101mm of stroke?

i don't know why the first 2 replies are from jackasses......just because its not a honda it does not mean we cant help him out.
i think for the type of power you are planning to make you could probably get away with the 0.84 to make the power you want, but the 0.96 would probably be better suited since you have the larger engine displacement and enough RPM to work with.

If it makes any difference, the motor is in a 97 neon chassis. The 2.4 swap is a pretty common deal, I just used a better block.
And the reason I asked here, is because there appear to be more vendors and smart people on HT than on SRTForums. So please, cut me a little slack.

A .84 A/R housing is an on-center housing, so watch out. Tangential T4 turbine housings offer better flow and a V-band downpipe connection. I would not run bigger than a .81 A/R hot side. Supras are making 700+ HP on .81 A/R P-trim hot sides, and they have even more displacement than you.

i say gt30r because of your power band and rpm range. i have been in a gt30r powered srt and i was very impressed.

I dont drive an SRT4 but I give them a lot of respect. I have a few friends with them. Pretty fast cars for the price. How the heck are you going to spin that thing to 8000 RPMS. and if you do, that thing is going to be a BEAST!!!!

You still havent said what've done to run it @ 8000 rpm.
I'm guessing you haven't changed stroke :$ , you just have aftermarket internals this is a guess though .

I'm with this guy. I might even try to go with the next lowest housing from .81 and see how it performs.
This isn't an attack, but I really wouldn't go by how Honda guys size their turbine A/Rs for your low revving 2.4L engine. In the Honda world it is perfectly acceptable to have full boost at 5-5.5k RPM for a street engine, but I don't imagine you getting more than 2k RPM of powerband after spool up on a 2.4L Dodge engine. They just can't rev like a Honda can, so you're going to have to step down on the housing size and run more boost(which is more than Nissan approach to things because while our engines can "kinda" rev, they don't breathe as well up high, but are way stronger under FI than anything Honda makes).
