Penn Grade Racing Oil
Anyone ever use it?
A friend of mine that turns like 9-11k in his asphalt circle car swears by it. He showed me a set of bearings that he used for 2 races and compared it to a set he used with Castrol synthetic; both 50w.
The ones using the Penn oil were totally wear free. The others had what you would expect out of a car turning 9-11k for a few races.
The thing that tripped me out was the Penn Grade Oil is green. It actually stained the entire engine with this green-looking film. Not the typical bronze looking stain you get running normal oils. It has a distinct odor to it as well; not like gear lube, but kind of a sweet smell... It's weird stuff.
OK... So I recently did a JDM D16Z swap in my kid's 95 Civic, and I let my buddy talk me into using the Penn Grade Oil (50w).
After about 2000 miles, I am shocked how clean the oil looks. It's still just as green looking as the day I put it in; no huge signs of dirt or discoloration in the oil. I am half tempted to pull the pan and check out a bearing or two.
I was just wondering if anyone here has had any good or bad experiences with this motor oil. As far as I can tell I give it a

I believe this is the oil that used to be Kendall before Kendall started using a variety of out of state and out of country oil.I was a believer in Kendall before they changed and always recommended it as my first choice.
