Ok so, i recently bought a 1990 accord dx from a guy, i put a new rad in it, and i needed to get the car jumped since it wouldnt start proably because its been sitting for about a month or 2, when we first started it after a few minutes the rad smoked for a while, eventually it stopped, when i got it home, i went to start it the next day, and it took a while, and after it went on it would just go off when i gave it gas,
Then after i tried starting it without giving it gas it started, and then it would rev up to 3000, then go back down, and it would keep reving up and down with out me giving it gas
Sounds like you need to burp the block. with the engine cold, open the 12mm bleed screw at the T-stat housing, then add coolant in the radiator till there is coolant coming from the bleed screw. You might also need to adjust the fast idle valve. This link will show you a pic of the valve.

Remove the top cover plate and turn the 'plastic' screw part in a couple turns.
When the engine/coolant is cold you should hear air bypassing in the valve.

I agree you probably have a bubble in the coolant. You know where the thermo goes on the passenger side of the block correct? Right there, like he said a 12mm screw. Just open it with the car running and it should bubble some and have air coming out. My 90 sat for a while and it had a LOT of air in it after I changed the radiator. Just keep pouring in coolant until it is a solid spray of coolant coming out. No bubbles or anything.
