I want to upgrade my transmission for more power. Can you give me advice to which one is the best or better transmission. I have a 95 D16 motor on my car right now. Is thre a place I can get this cheaper? I called Rancho Cordova and they want 650.00 for a SI or EX transmission.
Is there anything else I need to switch to SI or EX transmission?

The EX and SI trannies are the exact same. Look in the classifieds and you'll be able to find one from about $50 to $300.

 

Not exact same, but close enough. The Si has a .75 fifth, the Ex has .702.

Nothing else required for swap, bolt on.

 

Do it. It's very nice.

 

Dont think your going to gain hp/tq. out of an si/ex tranny , but the gears are much better suited for faster acceleration. make shure you replace the input shaft bearing and inspect all parts b4 putting it in.

 

they both are the same but since your car is a d16z6? right? if so than you already have a ex tranny.
