Getting local sponsors to help keep me at the track.
I've been thinking a lot lately of getting local sponsors around my town to sponsor me. Has anyone on H-T done this before? I would get magnets that were sized corresponding to the amount of money donated for the businesses. So when I get to the track they get show time. Plus I give each sponsor a framed picture of my car with their logo blown up. I was thinking of doing like 1 main sponsor for 1000 dollars, 6"x18" image for 100 dollars, and 4"x12" for 50. I would promise showing at local drag events as well as car shows and inform them of each event I attended as well as my results. I would provide them with at least 10 appearances at NHRA sponsored events, 3 car shows, and at least another 20 late night drags at PIR appearances. what do you guys think about my proposal? Anything you would advise or steer from? thanks

read the current issue of OverRev. There's an interview with the guy from BF Goodrich who's in charge of sponsorships. He explains what he looks for in a car to sponsor.
It's all about providing benefit to those companies.
