Skunk2 intake manifold installation
I was curious if anyone has any experience putting in a skunk2 manifold. i am curious if it is a difficult task or if its not that hard. Any tips would be helpful along with your answers too, thanx
Not to sound like an *** but do a search for best results. I along with many others on this board have done the install you will need a 1 to 2 brass t fittings and some vacuum hose. The install is some what a pain in the *** due to bolts underneath the manifold. You DO NOT need a type r or ls throttle body or brackets like some say however fitment with the gsr throttle body is tight and can screw up the use of some strut bars
thanx for the input, i figured it would be a bitch to put in but thats why im asking q's before i attempt and find out other's experiences.
Good question though, it's apparently a beast to get the OEM IM off, but good gains in the mid-highrange can be had considering you are heavily modded.
Take a look at this webpage http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=85. It details installing a type-r mani on an LS but there's a decent amount of useful info that will carry over for the skunk2 since the skunk is essentially the same thing as an ITR IM. HTH.
