Default Problems with Y7/Y8 inake swap?

Finally got around to doing my y7/y8 manifold swap but ran into some problems and had to switch it back for work the next day. i got everything on but here are some of the problems i had. if you have any suggestions feel free to post thanks

1) The fuel sensors didnt really reach
2) Im not positive but theres 1 sensor that dosent have a plug on the top rear part of the manifold and i think its for cruise control.
3) Small nipple on the lower part of the intake (also think its for cruise control)
4) Some of the sensors didnt really reach

anyone that did this swap run into problems pls advise and explain how you did it thanks.

Which fuel sensors?

The sensor on the top part of the manifold I believe is the IACV. On the Y8 it's on the manifold, on the Y7 it's on the throttle body. Remove that sensor from the Y8 and plug the holes, or leave it I guess and don't connect it, if you're using the Y7 throttle body.

Small nipple on the bottom of the intake manifold is for the cruise control. Plug it with a cap.

What other sensors didn't reach? Everything should reach just fine. Only thing I had to extend was the PCV valve line.

the sensors that led to the injectors didnt really reach... i think i have a manifold from a 99 ex and im putting it on a 96 dx do i need to plug and holes to prevent vaccum leaks?

Try running the sensors for the fuel injectors up through the intake manifold runner. They should reach, mine did with no problems when I ran them through the runners on the IM.

The only hole you need to plug is the cruise control nipple on the bottom driver's side of the manifold. I think you can use the IACV that's mounted on the Y8 IM, as long as you use the Y8 throttle body. If you use the Y7 throttle body, you'll need to dwap the throttle plates that the throttle cable attaches to to work right.

I put a 99-00 manifold on my 97, and I had to plug the air injection holes in the intake mani. It caused a huge vaccum leak on mine when I didn't.

As far as the sensors go. I had to cut the loom back a little and re-make my harness with my own loom/tape. I didn't have to splice any wires, but some of them are VERY close to not reaching. Just cut the loom back and you can do it without extending wires.

4 I believe, but it's been almost 3 years since I did this. I think it's one over each injector.

I just filled them with JB weld and made sure they didn't mar the mating surface of the intake mani to the head. They haven't come loose, nor have I had a single problem with it in the 3 years it's been on the car.

I did this this summer. Can't remember everything I did but I did have an extra tube when done. Just pluged it up. On the back there was a tube for boost gauge or cruise control. What sucks is you have to figure out a way to connect up this extra sensor. I punched a hole in the silicon tube before the throttle body and zip tied it there. Holds very nicely but I should make a mount to it at some point because it barely reaches.
