Default burnig oil but good compression

my motor is a B18a in a 90 integra. As of late it smokes blue (oil) at higher rpms or if I floor it. I just checked my compression and its 170 across the board just like last time which was a few months ago. So i think the rings are ok so im thinking its in the head like maybe valve seals??? It started burning more oil after i had a nitrous back fire which blew my filter off the end of my CAI, i got lucky it didnt do anymore damage but im thinking it did some internal damage. The car doesnt seem to have the power it use to and oil consumption is about a quart a week. What do yall think?

OK, here are my thoughts...

Oil rings are not compression rings, so you could have a bad oil ring but compression is good all the way around. What will tel you more is a leak-down test as initially your compression will be good, but will leak away fairly quickly if you have a bad oil ring.

Since you had a mishap with the NO2, you could have blown an oil ring, I guess.

Also, since you have good compression, your cylinders are probably in good shape.

But this is all guesswork. Without tearing into the engine you will never be 100% sure. And if you are using a quart a week, you probably already know what has to be done soon.

Oh, and the general rule is: If it puffs blue at startup but then doesnt smoke when driving, it's a valve seal. If it smokes all the time, it's an oil ring.

well it doesnt smoke on start up but does when i floor it or high rpms. I see how ur hypothesis could be the result. Guess ill pull the motor and see how it is, LsVTEC project or turbo is gonna be my plan. All motor would be great but wouldnt give the power i want. Thanks
