I need some help, when i slam the gas and dont shift until redline, the tach kind of freezes and it'll stop for a split second and then keep going and it does this a couple times for each gear. does anyone know what could be wrong?

Only thing that i could think of would be turbo lag, and I dont even know why, because you dont have a turbo, and thats the lag for when the turbo kicks in.

Mine does the same thing. however i have a 92 Civic Coupe 2 door with a Ex/si (s20) tranny. but its not only my tach that does it, its also my spedo. i cant figure out whats wrong. i took my cluster off and cleaned all the connections and put it back, swapped clusters, and still the same problem. so my guess it (the problem) is some place between the sending units and the tach. i had gotten a response a while back saying that it might be a loose ground wire... but what one? i checked all the main ones (chassis to head, tranny, starter...ect) and they were all good and making good connection. What sending unit is it that send the signal to the tach, and does it go RIGHT to the tach or tru the ECU first. i also swaped ECUs and problem is still there (i have a few extra parts laying around haha). so the only thing i can figuar out is its a ground wire someplace. or a bad sending unit. any help would be appreciated. Also. i dont think its a ECU related problem because my rev limiter is still kicking in. and if it wasn’t reading the signal right, it would rev past the rev limiter..? right? Thanks again.
ps i know this is just all over the place but bare with me. haha

the vss jumping i dont think is directly related to the tach .
The tach jumping or stalling is ussually the ignitor in the dizzy. make sure the wires arent loose and add some dielectric greese.
Since you have already check the connections at the dash and the ecu?
Just make sure the harnesses on the shock towers are tight together.

it is the ignitor, i have had this problem, follow these steps and it should work, and if it dose not, then you need a new ignitor, done
