what up,

What should the compression be on a b18c1 block with b16a2 head, and type r valvetrain? i know the comp is lower due to the b16 head. but i'm now sure where it should be??

How about you tell us.

Go through the search and find these numbers for a GSR block
1. Bore
2. Stroke
3. Deck clearance.
4. How thick the head gasket you will be using (we’ll call this HG)
Then go through the search and find what CC's are in a B16 head (how much area from deck too your valves)

With the numbers you get put them into the following to get the answer from a-d:
A= Bore x Bore x Stroke x .7854
B= Bore x Bore x Deck clearance x .7854
C= Bore x Bore x HG x .7854
D= CC's x .061

Now this is your last math problem

A+B+C+D
____________ = your Compression Ration
B+C+D

A stock GSR is 10.1 so you will see how much you gain or loose.

I'm not trying to be a dick but if you don’t try to search you will never learn

I think the difference is something like .4 or .6 less, nothing major.
