just wondering cause im buying a gsr cluster within the week and was wondering if there is a diff. at all. Thanks.

 

well if yours is a ls or rs then the red line will be different, thats all....if im wrong someone correct me...

 

The colors look just a little different....almost like the texture is different. Hard to explain.

Yeah, the GSR has a higher redline.

Also manual and automatic clusters are different. But that's all that I can think of.

 

I know for the GSR 2k+ have the security light for the new chip in the key.

 

I know its different form my car im just wonderin between gsr's like 94-97 and 98 and up thats all... if the only diff. is the key then that will work. Thanks guys.

 

throughout the the years cluster did vary however if the cluster you purchased doesn't dwork correctly take both of the clusters apart and take (3 bolts from tach pod) out and switch them into your original guage cluster

 

The letter color seemed to be different. My 97 RS gauge letters are somewhat white with a hint of grey in it. I've seen a pic of some 98+ gauge clusters and they had pure white letters.....could be just the lighting or dust in them though...I don't know.

 

Wiring is diff from 94-97, and 98-99, and 00-01 I beleive. I tried a 98 cluster in my 94 and the fuel gauge, seat belt indicator, and a couple other tihngs werent working properly. Like when i unplugged in the seat belt the fuel gauge went to empty! hehe....
