Default how much should I pay for tranny work? (pulling the tranny out)

a local shop quoted me 500. Is that too much? I need to change my 3-4 syncros and I'm prolly gonna drop a new clutch and flywheel in it while the thing is out. Just trying to not get ripped off.

ps. does anyone know how much 3-4 syncros cost?

I'd say do it yourself, or shop around and see if the prices are about the same..

is that 500 to drop it or 500 to drop it, install new syncros(thy can be had at gears speed and wont cost a arm and a leg) and put it back on? if so id say that was good, but 500 to drop and reinstall sounds about right. you can always take it out and put it back in your self...and save alot, and learn
