i buddy had his b18c civic stolen and someone did something to the motor. we originally assumed the poured sand or sugar into the motor can could never figure out. he pulled the motor and was going to junk it. since it still ran but was on the verge of diing i decided to keep it and try to slavage some parts. i pulled the head and it looked pretty clean. there was some slight pitting in the cam journals of the head. mothing major. my main question is the pitting going to be a major factor in trying to save the head? ovously the head needs to be torn apart and clean, most likely the valve seals are junk. the block sat on my work bench for about 6 months, i just finally started to pull it apart. i looks like leves or something was down there, which is pretty much impossable. i do see dome metal shrapings like the rod bearings where being eaten away. long story shotr i took some external parts off the block and i am giving the rest to the scrap metal guy. i am in the process of building my b20, but i really dont want to go vetec cuz i am going to be using carbs and no ecu. i seen a pretty decent deal on a p8r head, i was wondering what is the value of this b18c head (everything but valve cover). i know i need to post some pictures, ill buy a digi cam when i get paid to post some pics. is pitting in the head fixable? cams seem to be in good shape
