Default Built B18c1 in 00 em1 with custom exhaust build pics.. Take a look

Well this past weekend I put my built b18c1 into my 00 em1 I have a few photos of the custom downpipe that had to be made. I didnt realize how low a neukin manifold sits the turbo and not matter what angle I clocked the turbo I had to put the inlet on the drivers side so had to make a downpipe so I figured if you have to fab one up might as well make it 3" still waiting on some SS to come in the mail to finish it but here is what I have so far.. If there are intrest in a downpipe or exhaust let me know. I am also adding a cast elbow to the turbo to help with intercooler pipe placement when it is all done I will post more pics..

Specs:
B18c1 block

CP 9.0:1 comp pistons
Eagle H beams
arp rod bolts
balance rotating assembly
B16 head
GSR cams
JG dual valve springs & titanium rets
Bronze valve guides
Golden eagle headstuds
Victor X intake manifold
Hondata intake gasket
Neukin Exhaust manifold
t3/tO4e .63 turbo
Tial 35mm
Stillbuilt 3" exhaust.. (The Gangster ****)
Hondata s200b
Aem rail
Aem fpr
Fast turbo fuel line
RC 550cc injectors.. Will be going bigger soon.. just need some 750 sats.
I am sure there is more but its early.. Let me know what you think..

Those welds look pretty good I'd say.

About your setup though, get that kink out of the drain line or you'll be pushing oily smoke out the exhaust.

Indeed. Shorten up that line ASAP.

machine is a miller 180 synkkkkro. tacks are MIG, beads are TIG. material is 304 SS.

Those are d2's I am not too sure how I feel about them I got them as a demo set.. They are holding up but the adjustability isnt 36 way I would say more like 3 or 4.. But if you were paying for them you cant beat it for the price..

welds are not back purged but are 90% penetrated with minor "sugaring" on the inside. I dont really think its neccessary to backpurge exhaust is it? ive never had any break before, and i have quite a few hand built systems running around out there.
.065 wall pipe was at 55amps and the pipe to flange was at like 90 i believe.

looks good. why is it that no one places their o2 sensors vertical? i was lead to believe that it should be to prevent condensation on it and an early death.

im confused? are you saying that my 02 placement isnt correct? they are both as vertical as room would allow.

The O2 sensor is fine.. THey are not supposed to be below the halfway pont on the exhaust because of condensation build up..

optimal placement is +- 15 degrees from vertical

Okay cool. So the o2 bungs shouldn't be directly on top but at about a 15 degree angle?

Would directly on top of piping be fine, and one behind the other maybe a couple of inches apart?

Gonna start to practice a bit of welding soon

as long as its 15* at most from vertical you are fine.... one if mine is about 2-* from horizontal but i use that one for the stock o2 sensor.... who cares about stock o2 sensors anyway

O2 sensor placement is not as critical as everyone is making it out to be. sometimes room doesnt always allow you to place an O2 at the 12 oclock position. As long as you arent below 3 or 9 oclock than you are ok, 12 oclock is "optimal", but like i said, sometimes you cant always get away with that.
