Sand it down with soapy water and 1000, 1500, then 2000 grit sandpaper.

^^ wow

whats wrong with a jet coated toda header? I have seen numerous amounts of those headers rusted or have purple spots all over them. Does take away from the function of the header. But hey to each his own and your header looks AMAZING!

wrap it with heat wrap and it will be functional too if your intrested in things that function and not just look good. but this is the appearance and cosmetic fourm istn it so expletive it why not just dip it in chrome while your at it. cant get more bling then that.

Having it coated IS functional. It not only keeps your header looking brand new for years, it reduces underhood temps as well. Highly reccomended.

Default Re: How do you clean a JDM ITR header (AMECustom)

Here's a Toda header on the Sportcar Motion CTR after being installed. It was used and corroded quite a bit, so I sanded it down with 2000 grit, and it's stayed this way (although a little more gold) ever since, even after multiple dyno sessions and lots of full throttle abuse. It doesn't turn purple or get blotchy, as long as you don't touch it with your hands. The gold color happens naturally, you don't need to coat it with anything.
