I have that, stuff doesn't work like it says it does, on my passenger side 1 piece, I have that yellow oxidation color covering it, on the PlastX bottle, it says it removes that, I even used a buffer and still nothing.

If you arelready have yellowing you need to sand down the clear coat. And then use the plastx. I wouls suggest laying a few more layers of clear. Then letting it dry, and wet sand it, then use the platx on top of that. Plastx is more for protecting, and removing light oxidation. So wetsand your lights first, and remember there is probably some yellowing from the inside also.

I started with 600 wetsand, and worked my way to to 2k. If you use too fine of a sand paper, you will be there for hours trying to get the yellowed clear off. And a tip from some people, sand long ways across the lights.

those turned out great for hand buffing, that's what mine looked like before I had them cleared and buffed...it's worth the extra 60bones to have it done and protects them nicely

damn nice job

I think maybe that green box up there helped you the most on this project.

turtle wax polishing compound does the trick until i lay some new clear on them. i did the teg tips but didnt reclear my passengerside so it yellows after awhile. just rub some polishing compound and the yellow comes off. the car is getting repainted soon so i will have my lights recleared with a good UV protectant clear and hopefully wont be polishing them anymore.

what is this 3m perfect stuff you speak of? I used the sand paper 400/600/800/1000/1500/2000 and then turtle wax red then green....then clear....

but what is this stuff?

^I'm pretty sure that's the stuff. Keep in mind my headlights were not in too bad shape when i got them. We had it lying around the garage so i gave it a whirl and it looked pretty good. I buffed it out more than once. This was all done by hand though. If i had a porter cable buffer oh man those lights would look new.

I'll check the bottle when i get home. Since my aunt is the head of government relations for 3M we try and support the company.
