hey guys i was just wondering. A friend of mine is willing to sell me his eg hatch for $500. Do you think that it's worth getting if the motor runs like crap, no a/c, paint is totally crap, rust spots, and dents. I'm having a hard time deciding whether it is going to cost more to fix these things or just buy one that already is running and in decent body/paint condition.

should i just blow the $500 on my celica instead and forget the deal?

 

whats the condition of the body, no rust, if its good than i would buy it swap the motor and youl have a reliable hatch for cheap.

 

500 motor, 1000 to fix rust + paint... do the math...

the ever so arrogance of a smart ***. I did the math but i haven't been around the honda scene for 1 1/2 years and a lot has changed. So i was just looking for an answer that maybe was more up to date than my own answer. Things have gotten cheaper and some more expensive.

But the body is in horrible condition. It'll take a lot of body work just to get the body back to good condition.
