I am looking at getting a motorcycle, I will take safety classes and all fo that stuff too. I am 16 years old, and I am looking at a Kawasaki Ninja 500, as you guys recommended.

I live in minnesota if that helps, I haven't been in any car accidents or gotten any tickets, also, I am a B+ or A- average student.

About how much do you think I would pay for 8 months or insurance a year. 8 months b/c i would store it in the winter.

A little under $700 a year for full coverage on my gsxr 750. I am 27 with a shatty driving record.

 

i pay 800/yr under 25 full coverage $500 deductible, but my bike has no plastic around engine.

 

How much do you guys have on the medical portion of your insurance. I had heard of riders putting a million dollars under medical just in case....

 

I think i have 500,000 on mine. Like you said, just in case.

 

I think your better off with a car expense wise. Bike insurance is going to be high, maybe higher than a small car payment AND car insurance. Depends a lot on the insurance company though. It pays to shop around, some are cheap and don't pay some are high and don't pay claims.

I paid $235 for a year, bare minimum coverage.

 

I paid 250CDN a year , all in for my R1.. Mind you I can only ride 6-8 months a year!

 

i pay like $200 a year, i have minimums i thinkand im only 21 . but i got alot of speeding tickets from my car. i go thru progressive

 

the duc's are typicly owned by more mature people. thats the reason. Ya dont see many ducs on one wheel@90+

 

yeah they're not set up to be wheelie monsters. But they cost a lot compared to Hondas and Yammies, so people tend to treat them better and are typicaly older riders, at least that has been my experience.

 

god damnit . i just got my renewal and it went up to $339 from like 224. im pissed.
they said rates went up in pa . so they needed to stay competitve. .. . bunch of A holes
