i was wondering the same thing. Maybe he is into building model trains or something and he needs a vtech phone to call the hobby store for new miniature plants and stuff

Hehe, but that would be assuming he's talking about a drivetrain, and not a valvetrain like StreetEG said.

As for the drivetrain/transmission, I agree. GSR tranny.

The valvetrain would depend on what type of modifications and what goals you have set for your car.
