Am i being charged too much?
When doing an oil change i noticed black grease all over my rim and i looked where the hell it was coming from and well my Axle boot is ripped. I called monroe muffler they said it would be cheaper to just replace the whole right side axle. It comes with boots etc etc... charging me 135 for it. Is it a good deal? Also how hard is it to do it DIY? ANy input?
135$ is that parts and labor? IF so that is a good deal. Axles cost me 140$ from autozone and thats with the core charge. to do it yourself isnt that hard. it doestake patience and a whole saturday : the CORRET tools to do it to.
I agree, if that's installed cost that's a good deal.
If you have the correct tools it will not take anywhere near a whole Saturday to do, more like 45 minutes!! (well at least on my 6th gen anyway)

It's a good price, and unless you're proficient with and have access to a Ball Joint Fork, an Impact Gun, the 'honkin' huge socket for the hub nut and assorted wrenches, let someone else do it.
