Default IS300/S2000 HID's into EG6?!

any one know what the kelvin units are for the IS300 or S2000, 6000k, 7000k, 8000k??. I want to get similar HIDs to put into my EG without having to do any retrofitting.

Don't.

A projector in a non projector housing is going to cause a huge glare and look like **** while blinding other drivers.

Sorry Ricey but there's plenty of people that Retrofit and get excellent results. I think jdmlyfestyle has done retrofits on his eg fogs and headlights.

Do a search and type in Retrofit, go through the archived content and you should get a lot of stuff.

Edit: If you meant HID Kit in a non projector housing, than your right.

4100K . A retrofit would be the best option.

Get anything that is OEM off of BMW, Mercedez, Audi... and so on. The aftermarket plug and play HID kits are ****. Try and get a complete set with Wiring, ballast, and projectors so you can completely retrofit

I know.

I've seen HIDs in Civic headlights, and even with casper shields, the cutoff still looks like crap.

Join HIDplanet.com.

I got my S2k projectors for 300 bucks. My cheap Ebay clear housings are 70 shipped.

If you do it yourself, you need a dremel and a lot of free time.

If you have another shop do it (-Bionic- had his done) they're around 250 for an install.

is it possible to just get a HID projector kit, projectors, ballasts..etc. And retrofit it from there? also can it be any OEM projector that can be used? and just get it retrofitted? or should i just buy everything separately, projectors..etc?

Yea, just go to hidplanet.com. They have both forums (for retrofit help and HID questions), and on the main page they have a store that sells all brand new OEM HID sets (projectors, bulbs and ballasts) as a complete kit for less than 400.

You could save money by shopping around and buying used seperately, which has the advantage of custom (your favorite combination) but disadvantage of problems (used parts may not work).

You can always hand it off to customlightz.com for the 250 dollar retrofit if you dont feel like putting your lights in the oven...

since the EG6 has hi/low beams, do i need to find hi/low bulbs to put into the OEM projector or do they come stock hi/low with the projectors already? also would i have to get separate lights/setup for the amber corners or does it use the same light from the head lights?

I could use the complete OEM projectors, ballast, wiring, bulbs... etc that come off of a S2K/IS300..etc and retrofit that right?? just clarifying. OR do i only use the projectors and everything else has to be from and HID kit(bulbs, ballast,..etc) and retrofit that?

in order to retrofit you need around 500.00

Projectors, either Bi-xenon or single xenon depending on your light housing. If you get the TYC one piece the you can use single. Try to find a housing that has highs . Much easier.

Ballast and Ignitor, plus bulbs. DONT buy anything more than 5000k you will lose light. 4100-4300 is OEM on cars.

You NEED a wiring harness, HID pulls alot of power at start up. You may burn you stock harness if you dont get one.. Very easy to make.

Retros are very easy to do but time consuming. I have done both of my cars
best thing to do is READ all info on Hidplanet and ask questions. Once you get HID you will never go back.

I suppose you can paint them black but why?
Get "valeo" projectors from an Audi. Ive seen very good results from the BMW X5 projectors as well.

Dont buy a damn HID kit.. if you do ill give you a swift kick in the nuts and ill be sure that you cry

Retrofit is the only way.

BTW i do retrofits as a side job.. If you dont have at least 500-700 to spend then do not waste my time with a PM. retrofits are not cheap

go there and email them concerning about your civic retrofit. if you want really nice retro job and unbelievable cut off line. they are the one to do it. it will cost you though. but you get what you pay for and you wont be disappointed. 3 of my friends and myself have ad their retro projecters in our cars and it turn out great! it cost us 1200 but it was for lexus so i'm guessing hondas will be cheaper. good luck.

I will vouch for this guy, because despite how stupid I think the "JDM" fad is, this guy does great work, hes made fantastic write ups, and has added quite a bit of great info to honda-tech, and hes a perfectionist like me. Mad respect to JDMlyfestyle

projectors will always give you a better line and light. but if you like the is300 housing give it a shot. i never tried it so i dont knoe if its doable.

yeah the inllusion does charge a lot. i wanted to try retroing myself but making a nice shroud for a gs300. too hard for me.
