my friends dad owns a muffler shop and he can bend me up some pipes for cheap. dose anybody know the biggest size exhaust pipeing to run on with no cat or resinator on a 93 civic with stock d16z6 with out doing harm to the engine
the only thing you will do harm to is your ears with no cat or resonator. please dont do it. if you have no mods, bigger exh will not noticeably increase your power, may show it on a dyno, but all you will feel is your ear drums splitting.

You dont have to go cat back manufactured if you dont want. If your friend's dad has been in the exhaust business for long, he can give you good stainless piping with resonator and muffler and do it right.
I'd say 2" to 2.25" is the biggest i'd go with just the stock SUCK...i mean SOHC, but the bigger the piping, the more it'll resonate, and the worse sound quality (raspy) you'll get.
I've got a 2.3 L engine and i'm using 2.37" piping (usually metric) and iwth the 2.4L in my future (on a civic hatch) i'm going to run 2.5". I'd stick closer to 2" on the wheezy D.
