what ecu's have you tried? Though, you should get spark... test all plugs for spark, make sure that you are truly NOT getting spark as a diagnosis. If you changed the distributor already along with the cap/rotor/ ignition modual/ coil, than it's a wiring issue. Make sure everything is plugged in. Make sure everything is grounded. Check your fuses and change out any blown ones. Look to see if your throwing a cel, if so, check it and look it up. It's most likely something stupid. good luck.

The firing order plays no role it this. He is not getting any spark what-so-ever.

Jumping wont do any good if your grounds are not connected. You have not answered this question. Are all your grounds from engine to chassis\trans to chassis connected and in good shape?

Ok, did you check the resistance on the coil? I had a similar problem a few months back, turned out the coil in the new dis I got, that was "supposed" to be good, the resistance of the coil was out of spec. Bought a new coil and it fired right up.

the ground for the thermostat is ok and i put in a new coil and ignitor yesterday and still have the same problem. I thinking about trying to use an external coil set up to see if that will fix my problem.

If that doesnt work, you may wanna check the signal wire from the ECU to the dis, maybe there is a break in it. I beleive the wire is yellow\green.

Did you check the knock sensor. My friend had this same problem and it was because the Wires were out of order.
