i was thinking of ordering the EG6 OEM Strut Tower Bar, i was just wondering if anyone had a picture of this somewhere. i dont really know where to search, i tryed ebay, and all this $1 crap showed up. it should be illegal to call something jdm when its not actually from japan.

Who cares where it's from. Either it works or it doesn't, and the kids who don't know what the hell they're looking at and want to be cool are the only ones suckered into the "JDM" label and craze.

 

No the only ones that I have for my si hatch are the GSR and ITR ones that I bought. You can find a GSR one dirt cheap just powder coat it and call it good. I have never seen the JDM bar for the civic but I can't imagine it being any different or cheaper than a GSR ot ITR one.

 

i have the strut bar from the eg6.... got it from hmotorsonline for 20 bucks

 

as far as i know it looks exaclty like the gs-r ones!!!

 

I have the CTR one that looks identical to that EG6 one.. except that it's painted like the Type R valve covers... works great

 

mine looks the same and came with the jdm eg6 front clip.

 

the gsr and the eg6 is the same one isnt it?

Looking at the pic that was posted it looks exactly like a GSR one.

 

the gsr, 99-00 si and del sol vtec strut bars are all the same part number. i dont think the eg6 from japan ever had a strut bar, i could be wrong though.

anyway, the sturt bar from the cars i mentioned above will fit the 5th generation eh's, ej's and eg's but some drilling MAY be required. theres tons of posts covering this. try searching for "gsr strut bar" in this forum.

***edit: i have searched and did find that the japanese eg6 DID come with a strut bar with same part number as the cars mentioned above

ya most cars dont come with the holes pre drilled to fit the strut bar.. mine did it came with rubber gromets.. my x girls didnt .. ya i believe that all the strut bars from civic to integra are the same since they are pretty much the same body just different skins

 

siregcivic- thanks...thats where im looking from hmotorsonline. got my sir steering wheel from them. they are a great company. thanks for posting the picture.

 

and i could care less where the parts come from. but search for honda jdm on ebay and you get 4595 results, and 8847 results if you search titles and descriptions. i could care less about the JDM crap, yeah some of its nice, but its too expensive in my opinion. but i got the sir steering wheel cause i wanted an oem honda steering wheel without airbag or cruise control. and im not paying $200 for a strut bar. cause youre right, they basically do the same thing. i figured the one honda made for the car should do a decent job. especially since from the pic it looks like its one piece.
