Default ECU for a B16A2

This is my first ever post and would appreciate it if anyone could please tell me whether a p28 ecu or a p30 ecu would work best on a b16A2 motor, I just found via a code check that the ecu I have on my 94 dx hatchback is for an automatic which recently blew something as when I opened it I saw a burned (something) for lack of better ecu terminology. I would like to retain as close to stock performance for this engine so as to have optimal fuel economy. Thanks in advance.

Dave.

the p30 ecu is the specif ecu for a b16a. the b16a2 should be a usdm obd2 99-00 civic si engine.

pr3 (obd1) or p30 (obd1) should work fine. if ur cars an obd2, use a 99-00 civic si ecu

Thanks, the car is in fact OB1 so I guess I should be fine with a p30 obd1 ecu then. Can you recommend any reputable and cost efficient vendors where I can purchase this ecu from? I have looked on ebay for weeks but somehow I either get out bid by some rediculous amount or the seller sounds untrustworhty in his discription of the item and therefore I back off and continue searching to no avail. Thanks.

go for a p28 and an obd1 conversion, you'll save yourself a bunch of headaches when you want to make it fast.

Cool, thanks, I never thought about it that way, I was just looking to save some gas right now being that prices are the way they are and I have an 80 mile round trip daily commute

Thanks for the info.

you dont need conversion harness since the motor is in the obd1 chassis already. you can get a chipped p28 or a stock p30
