The software here is a big advantage. The code's faster and the functions are more intuitive.
The vBulletin boards are just kind of clunky, although the guys at EP Hatch have done about as good a job with their vBulletin site as you <u>can</u> do. There are so many options in the admin of vBulletin that you can make the boards really, terribly clunky, slow and cluttered.
If you're here for EP information, don't restrict yourself to just this forum. A lot of good information about K motors has been found in the Allmotor Forum, for example.

Another ephatcher finds his way to H-T. Welcome, man. Just watch yourself... this place has more ****** per total users than any other car site I've ever seen (Except maybe clubsi)

It does, recently, for some weird reason. There seems to be a country club or fraternity atmosphere that causes users to sometimes gang up on new people and try to make them go through tough situations just because they had to do the same thing.
I do not like that kind of activity, and I think it hurts the group here and hurts the hobby and the sport.
If a new user inadvertently asks a question that was discussed a month ago, we should actually take the time to point him at the threads that answer the question. We should not just say the information is there and that he should search...because it takes a while to learn how to use the search engine effectively.
So if you could do your part by reporting that kind of activity, where people are just being mean and stupid and not helping people, I'd appreciate it very much.

I've taken to filling potentially informative posts of mine (rare as they are) with several versions of terminology for the same things so that more searches would pick them up. For example, someone might search for the word "swaybar", but if a really good thread only had the two words "sway bar" for whatever reason, it probably won't come up in a search.

Hmmm. That's a pretty good idea.
On threads and posts that have been set aside as know technical FAQ, we should probably put a string of key words in a line in the post.
