cams 01 ex? lets get technical.
so ive done alittle searching. ive read a few things on how the d17a2 VTEC works, but not in detail. so i was wonder about cams, from what i have read from idle to about 4500 is running off one primary(intake and exaust) and one secondary(intake and exaust), right? around 4500 is full VTEC, witch is both Primary(intake and exaust).
am i right? 2 different cam grinds on intake and 2 different cam grinds on exaust? right? like a regular vtec just wacky timing. which if i study my cams i should be able to pump out SI power, but terrible torque.
the way i look at it make the primary grind like a b16's VTEC, the secondary grind for low torque around 3000rpms, so that it will idle normal, low end and high end grind will meet up in the middle to struggle to full VTEC, then hopefully i dont throw a piston doing 8000 rpms.
but im scared its just a regular cam, both intakes run off one grind, one just opening up more as rpm gains. if its like that i dont think its worth spinning 8000 rpms, cuz the low end would be to sorry and the high end wouldnt pay off. if its like that im gonna put a real VTEC in it. so if anything point me to a link to set me straight so i know how to get this engine to its full potential.
