Best places to buy ZC
Hey, i am in the market for a ZC for my 88 si. Those of you who have bought ZC's, where did you get them, how much did they cost, and most important, how do they run. Any information would be great.
Where you at, im pretty sure you can save on shipping charges if you have a warehouse close by, im in the Bay Area and got mine for 650 w/o tranny but with ZC ecu. Make sure you get the ECU for the ZC its realy good.
Mine runs great no problems, yet (knock on wood)

Got it from the same place from up top. Nippon baby, good place, have them ship it to the airport or some business that you can pick it up at. It will save you some money, I paid about 530 for shipping and the motor. I've had it in for some time and it runs great. I just ordered the motor and mounted that on my Si tranny for my 1991 CRX. Great motor to have, cheap, reliable, and run to drive. Would be nice if I could get the super charger kit for it. That would be my only regret, that it doesn't have mad power to it. But if you have any other questions drop me an email.
I had a good experience with Go Motors (in Brea). I went around to talk to over 10 different engine importers in LA area and some were jacking up their prices, some were trying to sell me the wrong stuff.
The people at "go motors" were simple and honest to talk to.
I got a ZC tranny from them. ($150)
Eraser got his ZC motor from them also.
Both run good as for now (probably about 3 months)

Another place I liked is "Libero USA".

Nippon all the way. They have raised their price though by almost $100 for the ZC. I paid $550 for motor and shipping to Ohio. Skip the ZC ECU IMO though, go with the Integra. I've been running it for 3 years with basically no problems.
As for how they run.... I love mine. It ran low 15's in my 91 Civic hatch. It's turbo'd now, but I haven't had a chance to run it. I've never had any reliability issues with it and only ever replaced the timing belt back in 97 or 98 when I bought it... Oh, and the distributor bearings went bad, so I replaced the distributor with a used one that was also bad, and then finally put on the one that has been on there for a few years now... and no the teg ECU does not 'burn up' distributors if anyone tries to tell you that.
