Default GABRIEL - Are they a performance brand or OEM quality?

I found a set of Gabriel rear shocks for my car on ebay, very hard to find cheap crx shocks for an 88 because of the eyelet style. I found these gabriels for $50

I dont know and it doesnt say if they are an aftermarket shocks meant for lowerred vehicles or if they are an oem replacement

I will be dropped 2.5" on some shitty adjustable coils

When I went to autozone to get shocks and struts for my buddies old toyota, they were that brand; I'm assuming OEM replacement only.

Definitely commodity level replacement parts at a corresponding price. Calling them OEM quality may be a step up sometimes as some OE shocks will be better. Certainly not in the least bit a performance item.

dude! my buddy got these for his integra, they felt better than tokico blues. i was pissed off because his autozone shocks were better than my tokico's! not performance but not bad at all for an autozone brand. off the car, the gabriel gold was stiffer compressing and faster on the rebound than the blues. damn tokico!

you can't really say that without more info. what spring rates? what drop? yours could be lower and have stiffer springs, thus wearing out your tokico's quicker. tokico's warranty is also void past a certain height because they were not designed to support extreme drops (+1.5"?).

gabriel is a cheaper brand and usually just for "oem" replacement. along the lines of kyb gr2's. i'd rather use gr2's though, since they are more often used on imports and are actually genuine oem on some cars. plus their AGX's are great in my book.

what do you think tokico blues are? they are oem replacements. you didn't think they were high performance shocks did you? both shocks brand new off the car, the gabriels were stiffer compressing and faster rebounding. "what spring rates?" i said shocks not our whole suspension kit. the gabriels also have a life time warranty, and they dont send detectives to find out if your car was slammed.
