How long with an accord live if abused and what do you consider abuse?
Hey everyone, I have a rather weird question. What is the average life span of a honda accord and what type of use would suggest car abuse. Also, is it bad if I shift at like 4,500 to 5,000 rpm from 1st to 3rd gear on more of less of a daily basis but only during the times im on the on ramp?

Honda's withstand abuse pretty well. I take my car to 9k atleast once a day and I have over 100k on it, it still (knocking on wood) doesnt burn any oil. Take care of the car and the car will take care of you.

Its not an accord, its a teg.

FDLOL,
Come on now, that question ranks up there with
"If I abuse my wife, will she divorce me?" And, Just WHAT do you mean by abuse?.
To give your question it's due; It all depends on how you're going to abuse it.
Hang frilly curtains, paint it purple and call it Bruce?
or
Drive autocross, run brackets at the local NHRA Drag strip, run boost thru a stock F23 or drive the car with no tranny fluid.
It won't tolerate much of either without a lot of help.

well my other accord took lasted while it could. the tranny was going and the only way it would move was by putting motor oil(crazy ****) but it worked. and once my cousin put tranny fluid on the enigine and it was still going. the car is gone now cause after about 3,000 miles later the engine died while driving to Nj and a piston came out flying with some fire. that was my first accord and it won't be my last.

Sounds like he money shifted to me. You can't on a stock ECU rev a GS-R to 9500. Unless he mis shifted, which is a mechanical over rev.

Sorry to brake it to you, but tranny oil is motor oil. Pretty much the same way clutch fluid is brake fluid.

I gave my '92 Accord hell, and it's now got 260k on it, burns oil like a freight train (burns about 3 quarts every 400 miles) but it still pulls strong and I still love it, even though I have a '00 now (which I try my best to take it easy on).
my old soch accord has 220xxxx km and runs without a puff of smoke
my new Sir has 205xxxx km and still runs well and is abused daily

Well, I have 103K on my 2001 Accord and she still runs perfect. I regularly redline it and usually get on it pretty good merging onto the interstate on a daily basis. I don't autocross or anything but don't think wide open throttle is abuse.
