I had ordered a Sebring Silver hardtop(same color as my car) with the stand and cover for $2900 off ebay and had it shipped to my local Honda dealer for installation.

Today was my lucky day to have it installed. When I get there to look at it, I notice something funny. No rear window.....I open up more shrink wrap only to see the window was broken during shipment.

Honda does not have a replacement window and have yet to find a glass shop to make me one. God this fuc*in sucks. Any solutions or help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm going to go take pics now. I'll be back w/the pics shortly.

maybe you can get a piece of plexiglass cut......no defrost though......which should not be that big of a deal......

There's this wonderful thing called shipping insurance that im really suprised you didnt have...would take care of this whole mess for you, wouldnt cost you a dime, and probobly only cost about $5 more on top of the shipping price.

 

^^ Unless he shipped with UPS. I still haven't seen my check that was supposedly mailed two years ago. It was only for $100, but still...

ON TOP OF ALL THIS BS, I GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ON MY WAY TO THE DEALER TO TAKE PICS OF THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mondays suck ***. I'll have pics of the damaged top and my damaged car up in a bit......goes to find rope and a ceiling fan...

 

Holy crap--that's a pretty bad case of the Mondays...

Even if they don't have the replacement glass, you can get $$.

And I hope the accident wasn't too bad. Might be worth it to stay home today.

Go figure it was some "old lady" in Highland Park. No tickets were issued, I need a new right headlamp, fender and bumper......it's going in on Monday to be fixed at Honda, i;ll have her back by Wed.

I really wanted the the hardtop installed bad. What good is it if no one makes glass for it?ALL the glass companies i've called said it is a factory item only and Honda looks at me like i'm talking Greek to them when I asked them for a new rear window.

The service and parts guys could not believe what kinda day I was having....neither could I...

Thanks for looking out Y2K......I know I could always rely an my H-T buddies to help smooth an already bad situation over. J/K

Now I need to go to Honda and order the new window since EVERYTHING must be payed in full before being ordered.

More BS to deal with.
So including the top ($2900), plus the broken window and molding which I payed for out of my own pocket till I deal wit the freight company($567), and the money for my decutible($500) and the cost to install the top and the rear glass(don't know cost yet), today had costed me about $4000+. Really bad day to say the least.


They felt really bad for me and gave me a "deal" on the parts.
On the plus side my Top Secret CF hood came in........

Does the soft top just stay rolled down when you have the hard top on? i'm new to the S2K and don't get the installation procedure. Do I just remove it in the summer and roll my soft top up?

you dont have to take it out .. you shoulda told me, i coulda help you out installing it w/o paying for labor ...

 

also, it hasn't been asked, but that glass was packaged seperate correct? I would be worried that the broken glass would scratch up the paint on that brand new top.

How would it ship seperate, its part of the top. If it is scratched i'm not worried. My car is getting reapired at the same Honda dealer and i'll just have em redo it if needed.I just feel like giving my money away this month.
