Default Failed hydrocarbons, where do I start?

The timind seems fine but the firing order may actually be wrong..... Somone told me the correct order but i cant get it to work with that order,, The only way it runs smoothly is the way it is now.... I ran a 2.74 HC btw.

OH, btw this is my 90 SI with a ZC motor im talking about...

if the firing order is off, the car will not start in the first place.

check o2 sensors, change plugs, fuel filter, catalytic converter, EGR and PCV

id start with a catylic converter and some high octaine gas, warm the car up real good before testing

A combustion chamber cleaning and new cat will do it. I ran my ZC with SS 4-2-1 headers, Catco cat, Apexi exhaust, advanced timing AND the Teg ecu, ran like new. I had high HC's without the cleaning/cat too. That motor runs like a champ though. HTH Kerry (BTW, I wouldn't bother with new wires, not unless you really need them)

Thats totaly not true. I had no idea of what the firing order was so i just tried till it ran smoothly. It started with sever settings although it was rough as hell in all but the current setup....

The cam timing is stock, the spark is as close as i can get it by ear. PLugs and wires have less than 1k miles on them. replaced them when i did the motor swap. I ran the car for about 30 minutes before the test and had premium in it...

ill change the cat I'll look into additives, anything else?

You could look into that "Guaranteed To Pass" stuff. I don't have any experience with it though.

Otherwise, Red Line SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner is .

Might check the vacuum hose for the MAP sensor (if it has one) for fitmit. The slightes little leak, can throw the HC readings way up there.
