Default did i noob my coilovers?

alright, i think i've figured out the problem to why my front suspension is clunking so much.

in stock configuration my D2 coilovers are sold with 8f/10r spring rates. for some stupid reason i can't remember, i asked my dealer to swap the front springs with the back when i ordered them. so i've been riding on 10f/8r spring rates, is this bad?

its not really "bad", those rates are pretty high imho. but it wouldnt explain any clunk sounds.

The rates dont affect the clunk, you may have installed it wrong or have it to low or something. Jack it up start shaking and wiggeling it and see it you can find some thing lose or what ever.

make sure that the spring perch's and locking collars are tight?
i have installed some on customer cars and what i usually do is lock it tight with the supplied wrench then tape it up in electrical tape. cause sadly those collars do come loose

i would rather have the higher rates in the front anyway...but check your ball joint on your upper control arm...i had a similar clunking noise when i went over bumps in my car

so swapping the springs shouldn't cause the clunking,

check.

how about this, when i installed them last year i had trouble raising the rear height to be equal with the front height, the only way i could make the car level was to lower the front collars ALL THE WAY DOWN.. so i think there was no preload?

is this bad?
