for the longest time i always thought my seat back had bent and it felt like i was falling into the passenger seat, but it wasn't the back, its the rear mounts where it mounts to the floor!!! ill get some pictures up tomorrow but basically where the threaded hole is that the seat bolts to, in the floor, i broke out all around it and caved in!!! anybody else have this problem or anybody have a good idea to fix it a cheap way <U>PLEASE</U>!!!! input is appreciated

If it caved in, it sounds like your floor pan has rusted out. You are going to need to replace the floor pan, and where the seat rails bolt up, you have to weld two nuts the the floor pan and drill the hole out.

 

I had the same thing happen to me in my 88 dx. The back left of the drivers side broke all the way through around the nut and the back right was on it's way. I took it to a body shop and had their welder just weld the nut to a new piece of medal and then weld that into the car. Cost me about 90 bucks to get both back ones replaced and I stripped out the interior for them.

There was no rust so the guy suggested it was probably from people taking the seat in and out a bunch and over tightening the bolts and bending the medal back and forth. Car smelt pretty bad from the welding for a few days but now my seat is steady and level.
