Default B18C swap

Ok my friend has a B18C with auto tranny to put in an EK3 and he wants to change it to manual before installing it. Is it safe to use any other B series gearbox on the engine and also what does he need besides ecu to change to manual?

Thanx.

you dont NEED a new ECU, u can use the auto ECU. but yes, any B series trannys work with B Series motors (as long as if they are in the same engine code [EK, EG, ETC.])

axles dont matter when it comes to auto/manual (i dont think) i think it only matters if u have ABS or not

I love erroneous Information!

ANY B series transmission will bolt to any B series Engine. the problem is that in 1992 Honda went to Hydraulic throw out bearing transmissions, therefore you cant use a cable operated throwout bearing transmission on a 92 or newer car without a conversion kit. the same could be said about using a 92 or newer hydraulic operated throw out beaing transmission on a car older than 92 without a conversion kit.

Your friend needs the pedal assembly, hydraulic lines, shift rods, shifter and the clutch master cylinder.

you can use either abs or non abs axles. there both the same. just one with the sensor or one without. unless you have abs then get the abs axles. if you don't have abs then it doesn't matter. i know you will need the axles half shaft of a manuel. the one for the auto won't line up right. also you will need the back transmission mount bracket for a 99-00 si.
