I am working on a friends 98 v6 accord. The car had trouble starting and the battery was tested and supposedly bad. After the battery was replaced the died again and then the alternator was replaced. Now the cars starts but dies immediately, unless the gas is pressed. Any suggestions?????
If Honda EFI is modeled after Bosch, you may have to re-learn The ECM. Traditionally this involves keeping the engine running for a pre-determined amount of time. In most cases until the cooling fans first cycle. (Full warm)
I'm quite sure someone else will chime in telling me I'm nuts, but what do you expect at 3:00am in the morning?

I am pretty sure it isn't the ecu relearning itself. I checked all the fuses and everything seems fine. Any other suggestions welcome.

Me and another friend cannot figure it out. I am going to replace the alternator again to see it I may have gotten a bad one. That is the only thing I can think of since this didn't happen until it was replaced.

I replaced the new alternator just to make sure it was good and the same thing. I didn't notice before, but there is some white smoke coming from the exhaust. Not a lot but some. Any suggestions welcome.
