Default Switching oil brands

I have a 95 integra GSR I recently picked up and it is about time for an oil change. The guy before me always used royal purple synthetic oil in it and it always worked good but I have nowhere around me to get it. Is there any problem with switching to mobil 1 synthetic since they are both synthetic oils? The mobil 1 is just much more avaliable for me. Also I always had a D series setup...how much oil does a GSR take?

Just use what you like. There won't be a problem.

Any full synthetic oil should be fine.

GS-R's take 4.2 quarts but just check the dipstick

I use redline in my tranny and my engine. Haven't had any problems. Most of the people I work with use royal purple and all seem to love it. I have some friends that use castrol, mobile, valvoline etc etc. As long as you take care of your car and have proper maintainence it should last no matter what. I think most people will agree that pennzoil is not the motor oil of choice though.

A friend at work used to build nascar engines. They switched from a regular motor oil to redline and got 17hp on the dyno(which is amazing). After that they tired an additive called tribotech and picked up another 12hp.

Thats pretty interesting. How would you pick up HP from changing oil brands? 12hp is a lot of hp to pick up from changing oil.

its nascar tests, you wont pickup 12 HP, you may pickup 0-3 hp due to the reduced in engine friction.
