195/55/15 or 195/50/15 falken ziex
is there a significant difference between the two sizes? reason being, i've decided to go with the falken ziex's for my daily driven 92 civic. here's the price difference:
195/50/15 $175 for 4
195/55/15 $255 for 4
is the extra $80 worth it for oem size?
195/50/15 $175 for 4
195/55/15 $255 for 4
is the extra $80 worth it for oem size?
Your speedometer will be off slightly, and you will effectively be lowering your overall "gearing", but you shouldn't have any problems with the smaller size.

hell no.
hell no.
The speedometer will read approximately 3% higher than stock, so when your speedometer is showing 60 MPH, you'll actually be traveling 58 MPH. As I mentioned, you'll also realize slightly lower overall "gearing" (similar in effect to changing your final drive), but for many people this is actually a desirable result.

stock size is 195/60r14 right? at least it was on my integra...
i have 195/50r15s on my hatch and whenever i drive past one of those radar things it says i'm going like 4-5 mph slower than my speedo shows. keeps me from speeding i guess

ya no kidding. if you're going to spend money on rubber at least have it be more rubber width wise rather than height.

so the 195/50/15 would be just fine? dope. oh yeah, i was thinking about 205/50/15's also.. isn't that too wide for a hatch? i have PS, so wouldn't it make it more of a bitch to steer? lol
*edit*
i was just looking on the discount tires website and they offer a 50 dollar rebate on yokohoma es100's. so basically, after the rebate the total comes out $206 plus tax. what do you guys think?

i have 195/50 on my del sol and on my civic i have no problems at all and you speedo will not be off dont spen the money comming from a honda tech at a dealership iits not worth it..
If you're running the stock engine/tranny, you should just go with the 195/50/15 since the OEM tire size is 185/60/14. But if you have a swap, you should use 195/55/15 or 205/50/15.
