Default 98-01 Type-R lip retrofitted on 94-97

I already searched and found nothing, maybe I'm using the wrong words for the search or something.

I was hoping to see some pics of the 98-01 Type-R lip ghetto-rigged onto the 94-97 bumper. I found one example on honda-tech but wanted to see more. Thanks

Are you talking about the US type R (ITR) copy? I have a customer who bought one, and cut some aprts to fit his car. Actually came out pretty nice.

I don't see any difference of if it's a copy or the real thing... am I missing something? Cause I'm really tired right now

the only way it will work is if u cut the 98 bumper horizontally, and then cut ur 94 bumper horizontally.

the the lower portion from ur 98 bumper, and duct tape it to ur 94 bumper.

then, some GS-27 color crayons, go over the cut with that to fill it the cut. wipe it out and it should even out.

it can be done without any cutting..

the WW/Comptech flexible ones can be fit onto a 94-97 front. It looks ok but you can tell the fitment isn't right.

that lip in the link posted above is the "Type R Style" front lip....doesnt look like the OEM ITR lips.

And for the original question/request.... i just typed in itr lip and searched the archives. I found what you were looking for:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=768307

and for those of you who are too lazy to click on the url, here's what it looks like. (pic pulled from the url)

some of us long time h-t'ers know this is an old pic...

I remember that, someone with a green integra also did this right?

The way I see it.

94-97 - get the Comptech ITR Lip Replica if you can't find an OEM 1997 ITR Lip
98-01 - get the OEM ITR Lip or OEM Optional Lip or Comptech ITR Lip Replica

Stick with what fits/looks best... sure you can mod it to fit but IMO the 94-97 R lip looks sexy

Yup the one I saw was a green integra, username Liquidgsr. Here it is:

EDIT: Any tips from someone who's done this? Or anyone willing to do a writeup if you plan on doing this sometime soon?

i did that a while back, here's a quick write up and some pics of it on my car:

1) seperate bottom half of the bumper from top half:

2) you have to cut out an "L" for the inner part of the lip to clear, make sure to cut both ends evenly (the mistake i made )

3)attach bottom half of the bumper to the top half and the end result is this:

hope this helps! btw: i used the comptech urathane copy.
