Ideas on how to mount air intake temperature sensor?
I need to mount an air temp sensor in my car, however, I have ITB's so I can't mount it in an intake manifold. I also don't want to mount it in the ITB's. I was just going to mount it on the firewall somewhere out of the way but close to the ITB's so it reads ambient temp that is nearly identical to the air temp that is going into the engine. I need some ideas as how to mount it. It has a 3/8" NPT thread so I could possibly screw it into a nut and then weld the nut to the firewall (as seen in the picture). Can you guys give me some other ideas on how to mount it.
the air temp sensor needs to be in the actual air intake charge.
for a steel intake or charge pipe, we use an o2 bung for placement in the pipe.
and we've now made aluminum o2 bungs for AL charge pipes or lightweight exhausts
this is a gm iat sensor correct?

That dosent help much.. He has no Intake pipe steel or aluminum...
The firewall should work just fine! As long as its close, my buddy had to do something similar. Worked well.

Floating O2 bung and IAT sensor eh?

I had the IAT sensor remote mounted with an extension bracket which puts the sensor about 3" away from the airhorn (when I was still running NA with the ITB's).

Does anyone have other suggestions as how to mount the sensor, not where. I wanted to find a way to mount it without having to weld but I can't seem to figure anything out.
