88 hf question(d16y7)
Why not use the y7's intake manifold and header?
An Si distributor should work fine on the y7, bolt up and all that good stuff.
Use an Si ECU (pm6)
Si tranny...
You're set.

yea, they should work. i put a d16y7 block in my 89 hf, and used the hf dizzy, header, intake manifold, and even tranny... it should all bolt up.

Have you considered just swapping the Y7 head on the D15b2 block? Yhe D15b2 has flat pistons vs the D16y7 that has dished pistons. The D15 block would yield a slight increase in compression. You could also get a D16Y8 head gasket, which one is metal and 2 also allows for a small bump in compression. The Y7 head has the same specs for chamber and port size as a D16Y8. This allows for more air. But you would have to get an adjustable cam gear to make up the half tooth difference on the timing. I'm running a Y7 head on my D15B7 right now. As far as power I couldn't tell you. My head is milled 1.27mm and i port and polished the exhaust side. I'm running 11.1:1 + compression. I also picked up a Y8 intake manifold, and port matched it to a 60mm (95 GSR) TB. I also elected to run a PG-7 (89 teg) ECU w/ mine since i run a high compression. It dumps more fuel, also it rev limits at 7500RPM rather then 6800 RPM like the PM6. The if you really wanted to get crazy, whilke you have the D16y7 block sitting around get a set of ZC pistons for it. That would bump you into high compression and more power. I still need to put my cam in it and get dyno tuned. Hopefully by the begining of the year i'll have done it.
