OK, Who has H4/ITA Hondas for sale right now???
Mine is for sale (details below). There is just no way in hell I'm going to have time to maintain and drive it anymore so it needs to go. It's been up for sale for a while and I've only had some interest from sources that seemed less than legitimate. I'm strongly considering parting it out soon.

Grumpy.
Don't forget Karl's Integra.
Drop a non-VTEC motor in it and its an H4 car. ITA too (although "technically" illegal, its unlikely anyone would care).
Or you can leave it as-is and run it in H3.
Or you can drop a fancy motor/tranny in it and go H1.
One owner car (this is the really good part). Never wrecked.
Custom cage, revalved konis, several sets of wheels/tires, spares... Last I heard he'd take $9000 for it.

To be honest, if I hadn't gotten so accustomed to the "show up, put on suit, win race, write a check" routine, this is what I'd do with it myself. I predict the non-VTEC DC2 Integra will soon become one of the "car to have" cars in ITA very soon.
Possibly about a month from now, down in Georgia.

...and you can probably sell the VTEC lump out of Karl's car, buy the plain-Jane version, do the swap, and STILL have money for beer and handjobs for the whole crew.
That's the answer, right there.

I believe the latest issue of sportscar had an ad for an ITA prepared CRX SI for like $14k. Sounds like a good car and located around Detroit
One of the nicest CRX's I've seen and a steal. There is literally nothing left you need to do to it. It's not my car but I've driven it and it's stored at our race shop up in NH, so I do know a lot of details. The owner obviously would be the one to contact though.

Well, I have no idea why, but I'll try to explain something to you.
I know it'd payoff the same to go tell my dog this stuff, but I'm stupid and stubborn and have 5 minutes to waste, so here goes...
In Amatuer club racing there is pretty much 3 kinds of "cheating."
1. Honestly didn't know they were running illegally.
2. Intentionally using something the rules don't allow in order to gain an advantage.
3. "Technically Illegal." Meaning something that provides no advantage at all, but when the rulebook is strictly applied you are in violation. This is usually done intentionally, not to gain an advantage but to save money.
Now, the results of these 3 things are typically as follows...
1. Your competition points out the problem and gives you time to correct it. If you don't, and you are beating them, they eventually protest you.
2. The competition gets pissed and protest you. You get booted.
3. I have yet to hear of someone protesting such a thing at the regional level (Improved Touring is regional). This type of nitpicking does happen at Mid Ohio and Topeka, but thats typically the only time.
Examples of the 3 things...
1. You buy a race car and discover the fenders are illegal. They are from the 6 cylinder BMW, Not the 4 cylinder, which is what you are running. The competition says "Cool, just run tires that *would* fit under the correct fenders and promise to eventually get the right parts." This exact conversation is happening with a new racer on IT.com right now.
2. You are required to use stock brake rotors, or at the very least a stock equivalent. You are not, you are using rotors that have superior metallurgy to stock and you know it. You know it because thats the reason you paid $100 for them when you could have bought Brembos for $29. You are protested, you get booted, you were "cheating."
3. You are racing an Integra GSR chassis in ITA. You are doing this with the correct drive train (from an Integra LS for example) in the car. The GSR chassis is IDENTICAL to the LS chassis... Sunroof, power windows, rear wiper... IDENTICAL. Technically its illegal because the VIN does not match the engine code, IF someone did protest you, you'd lose. But the protest is highly unlikely. Its weak, and the person that pulled the trigger would make him/herself relatively unloved within the community.
Again, this is regional IT racing. NOT the Runoffs. Things are different there.
If you don't understand that Mr. nonsense, I can't help you. I can't possibly explain it any better.

Oh I get. What you're saying is that "cheating" is open to interpretation. If you feel that what you're getting away with while cheating fits into the category of "ok cheating" then all is well, but don't dare do any of that other "not ok cheating".
Thanks for clearing it up, you're not as stupid as you thought.

Well, no.
You don't get it.
Its all about what your competition thinks. What you think means jack ****. If there is ANYTHING illegal on your car and they *want* to protest it, they can. And they will win the protest.

If I'm so stupid, how come I can get you to do exactly what I want when I want? You're so predictable Catch, the only reason I posted was to get you all rilled up and have you reply about how I'm not getting it and how smart you are cause you understand simple concepts. You really should learn to relax, I'm sure the 20 e-fights you get in every week is taking it's toll.
Anyway, sorry to threadjack .... back on topic. Any more H4/ITA cars out there.

-Floyd, who has front & rear bumper covers from a carb'ed CRX on his ITB CRX Si, and is changing them to the correct ones. I know no one would ever be likely to protest me for the wrong ones, but it just bothers me everytime I look at them.
ps- for Mr Nonsense: No, I don't think Scott is saying it's OK to cheat for any reason, even the type that saves money and gains you absolutely no advantage what-so-ever. If he thought that was OK e wouldn't have built a brand new car with the correct vin# matching tub because the race car he bought was an incorrect non-matching vin# tub. I think he's just saying that if you do decide to do something like convert a GSR tub to an ITA car and run LS mechanicals, because you already had a GSR racecar and this route would save you tons of $$$, well yeh, you're illegal. But 1) there is absolutely no competitive advantage gained, 2) no one would ever know, and 3) if someone did somehow know only a real asshat would protest you, knowing that had you spent lots more money and completely rebuilt your car using the correct LS tub the results would be exactly the same. He wouldn't protest someone for that. I wouldn't either. I know from previous postings on IT.com that he feels the same way I do, that the IT rules should be opened up to allow things like this to be done for economy's sake.

But he also talked about putting a DX motor in it and giving it a shot in ITB depending on how the weights fall out for it.
Yes only a real asshat would file that protest. Same with the brake rotors. Why scott likes to argue on the interweb, I dont know.
