Do you mean the ones with a locknut over each valve? If you moved those, you'll have to do a valve adjustment to reset them to the proper clearance. It isn't very hard to do.

Not as big problem as you might think. and
"the heep"...(pause)...was correct, from where I sit.

It's not a big thing, but it has to be done correctly; or you could end up with either a terribly noisy motor, or engine skips and burned valves.

Now might be the time to anticipate picking up a service repair manual (Helms, etc)

You'll need a set of "Feeler Gauges" (available from Craftsman, Snap-on etc), an open end / box wrench and the correct screwdriver.
You will also need the patience of Jobe.

No, It's a one shot deal if you do it correctly from the beginning. It involves:
1) Positioning the cam lobe for who's follower you're adjusting to the full-closed position.
2) Setting a pre-determined space between the adjuster screw/valve stem. (Use afore-mentioned "Feeler Gauge" and Hand tools)

Now, I can not stress this enough.
Beg, Borrow or photo copy the instructions from a service manual for your car. If you insist on doing this (and other stuff on your car), break down and buy a manual.

like P says u need to adjust the valve lash.....intakes at .010 exh at .012 ..put cylinder at # 1 top dead center and adjust # 1 valves, spin motor preferibly with rachet, extension and 19mm socket , if u spin it toward frt pf car # 3 will be up after # 1 then 4 then 2 ....to make sure when u are at top dead 3 there are notches on the back side of camshaft puley when they line up even with the head u r at either 1 or 4 , when they are perpendicular with the head u r at 2 or 3 ... i would start at # 1 makes the job easier
