rookie questions
I'm on my 2nd civic. 1st one was for the family till I got my wife the odyssey.
Now I have an 05 civic si and am looking to add some aftermarket parts and I have questions
#1- If I buy parts new do they come with instructions for installation?
#2- I am not handy under the hood. where is the best place to install i/h/e?
#3- How much more horsepower can i expect from only an intake and exhaust?
#4- Should I get parts from a store or order online?
help in Tampa

#1 - Almost all new parts will have a set of installation instructions. Depending on what you buy, it might be easier for you to have it professionally installed. If you buy something used, there is little chance that instructions will be included.
#2 - This depends on where you live I guess. If you live near a bigger sized city, there will probably be custom shops there. Most places that sell i/h/e will do it for you (for a fee of course). Some places will not install things purchased elsewhere, so call around.
#3 - The amount of horsepower you can expect varies depending on various items. An average increase in horsepower that you can expect can be anywhere from say 10-20, 25. It all depends.
#4 - Each option has its own advantages. You will probably find the best deals online. Just be careful that if you are looking for something new, make sure it is froma trusted site, or they say that it is brand new, in a sealed package etc... You will also find a better selection online in most cases. If you order from a store, they might give you discounts if you have them install it.
