Blower motor works sporadically
Hey guys,
Got a 94 Civic DX and recently for some reason my blower motor has been working sporadically. Most of the time when i have it set to any setting (1-4) it won't even spin and i'm getting no air through the vents. Occassionally it will just decide to work and i'll get some air flow, but it doesn't feel like it's operating at 100%.
Also just started experiencing an odd phenomenon with my headlights. Within the first couple minutes of driving my car if i use the brights and then go back to the regular lights, the lights cut out entirely for a split second. I'm not sure if this is related to the blower issue, probably not.
Anyway, car is stock - just a commuter. Only thing i have in it is a stereo which has been there for a few years. I double checked to make sure the fuses 'looked' ok and they did. Although, i'm not sure which fuse is responsible for the blower and headlights.
Any advice would be appreciate, it's about to get real cold here and i'd like to have some heat!

Fixed it.. Took out the blower wheel and it looked like the plug caught fire almost. The insides of the plastic plug were charred black and the wires weren't very healthy. The contacts were making a poor connection causing the sporadic behavior. I cleaned up the plug and took the blower wheel off to clean (thanks dishwasher) and it's as good as new.
You either need a new blower motor or the resistor . Very easy to replace if you have patience . As for your headlights . More then likely the relay .
