Default Removing Muffler from Pipe?

I was wondering if I removed the Muffler from the Pipe since it is slip on, if it would hurt anything under the car? The pipe ends a little after the LCA, the reason why I want to do this is because the Muffler sounds raspy and it sounds like something is loose inside whenever I accelerate. I also have a high flow OBX cat with resonator. Thanks!

do you mean unhook the rear section of the exhuast at the joint near the LCA?what do you mean by slip-on muffler?
if your muffler is trashed, best thing to do is get a new muffler/rear section/catback.ghetto solution is to unhook it wherever.

Yeah it slips on then clamped down to the mid pipe. I was just wondering if running straight pipe without muffler would hurt anything, say melt or burn anything, on the bottom of the car. I have another full exhaust but the mid pipe is off a little and hits the bottom of the car. I plan on welding the muffler from that to the pipe I have on the car now cause the pipe is perfect fit. But dont have the money right now to do it. Thanks! Oh and yeah it disconnects from the mid pipe just a little after the LCA short of the rear bumper.
