I have a 1994 Civic Ex with a B16A and when you first start the car and push on the gas it hesitates really bad!!! Can you guys give me some ideas of what it may be? The RPM is not going up and down so I know it is not that thing under the TB. I think it may be the TBS, or may be an intake leak? Please tell me what you think so I don't pull this motor out. And it not just when it's cold, it does it in first and second. It like there is no power there.

 

Hesitate do you mean it kinda chokes? Check you fuel system and check your dizzy timing, mine did something like that( kinda choking hesitate on first and second and found out my timing on my dizzy was a little off and it made a whole lot of difference.

 

did you advance it? I think I am advanced a little but i'll try that.

Do you mean it kinda keeps jumping forward when you are starting in first? My b16 swapped civic does this....but only when she's cold. I let her sit and warm up before I drive, and then i have no problems. But i'm curious what causes this??

 

Yours may be the TBS, but mine just kinda boggs then goes. Like there is no power. I am gonna ck the fuel press and see if that is it. I also have a VAFC that i think is wrong but i am not sure how to use it.
