Need a question answered ....For my 88HF....bout the hubs or ?
I got a sohc zc vtec on my car but im still running my
88hf tranny.... im planning to drop an SI /Xsi tranny to it.
cuz that shiet aint pulling hard enough...long *** gears..haha
well i know that i need to change suspension but dont know
jack schitt...
Do i need the Si hubs or knuckles[dont really know bout it]
or do i just use the 90-93 teg ones??Also if i put these on do
i have to change my shocks and coilovers....
What will suite best for future reference...im going to drop an
LS to it.....
Thanks ppl

get the si knuckles from the junkyard, use si axles and an si tranny and you will be set. I would also advise getting the si front and rear sway bars, as they will drastically help your handling, as the hf front sway bar is hollow... and has no rear.
you do not need any other suspension parts to make it work though.

If you plan to use the SI transmission, you don't even need to worry about axles and hubs. The stock HF axles and hubs will work fine. I should also note that you CAN upgrade to DX/SI brakes if you go this route, as this is the stock setup on the four speed Civic STD HB. As for the XSi Integra transmission, this is a B16A transmission, and it will not work with ANY D-series motor.
On the other hand, if you plan to drop in a B-series motor in the future, you could go ahead and buy DX/SI hubs, knuckles, brakes, and axles. But holding off on this stuff might be better, since those DX/SI axles won't work with a B-series motor.

so if i get an Si tranny...i could use my stock axles and
hubs from my hf?
and once i go b-series i should upgrade to the SI hubs?

ya I think the hf axles have like one or two fewer splines on the axles... but I would encourage doing something, as the hf front brakes suck nuts, you can easily upgrade those to either DX brakes or Si/EX brakes IF you use the DX or SI knuckles (same part), and if the axles do have a smaller spline count, then use the Si tranny as it has better gearing as far as the USDM tranny's go, and should not be hard to get for a good price.

not 100% but I would 100% urge you to... especially beacuse the hf axles are lighter and are not designed for higher horsepower. it would be better safe then sorry and also best to do it to do it right instead of letting something that could be important slide...

Yes, they will. I have done it before. The spline count may be different on the hub end of the axles. But it is the same on the transmission end. There will be no problems with using HF axles on an SI transmission. As for the axles not being able to handle the power, I had no problems whatsoever. It's not like any D-series motor is going to be able to make those axles fail without boost.

ones with my warranty....haha..coo
