KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks - YAY OR NAY DAILY DRIVEN FUNBUCKET
Found a set of KYB GR-2 Gas Shocks on ebay for $169, thats the best price Ive ever seen for 88 Crx shocks, was wonderring if they will be anygood.
Im mating them to a set or Aerospeed coilovers, dropped about 2.25" on an 88 Crx
Im definetely getting them because its all I can afford and I hate the 4x4 look but who has some insight on them, are they gonna bottom out and break quick?
I dont race the car on the track, just somefun on the street and regular daily driving
Let me know

i'm using them with ITR springs on my 2000 EK chassis - very happy no complaints.
well fact is, my car is all stock... laid off modifying and track/autox for a while... this combo, imho, is great for daily.
but you are using 2.25" lowered springs - a factor i wouldn't be able to comment on.

I installed my springs and shocks today actually
The car sits about 3" above the rear tire with only 1" left on the adjustable sleeve, im hoping to sleeve settle and sag a good bit

2.25" drop on GR2...don't be surprised at all if they blow...and sooner rather then later. GR2 are OEM replacements and not meant for lowering. With 2.25" drop, you should have gone KYB AGX.
Sure the GR2 can handle a drop, but a drop you would do with stock shocks...so like an 1"
For $169 not the biggest deal if they blow, but just don't be surprised if/when they do. Keep an eye on them, thats forsure.
It could last months, it could last years...its a complete risk.

Save the money and get something better. I have GR2's with my H&R Race Springs. The ride is rediculously stiff. My ride is slammed with those bad boys. SOmetimes i dont think they can control the rebound. There great for stock to 1" drops anything over that and its not gonna work so well.
